Never Too Young
Midwood, New York, 1968
95 cents; 224 pages)
The blurb on the back:
The prim and proper matrons of Debbie Hale's boarding school were speechless with shock when they discovered her taking a gang shower with a trio of military cadets. But that was just for openers. Debbie had a whole list of things she wanted to try...
Never Too Young:
Bethie thought she was a big girl now. She had an apartment of her own and lots of eager men anxious to spend some time with her. But there were some things she didn't know about certain types of men - and the things they like to do with young girls.
The problem with a lot of these 1960s books is that they're not actually pornographic at all: they're erotica only to the extent that, say, Porky's II: The Next Day is erotica. So once you've got past the joke that Teen Tease concerns a teenager at a private school called the Cannabis Academy for Girls, there's not a lot left to look forward to. If I may illustrate, this is about as raunchy as it gets:
Sidney ignored her plea, forcing her to remain on her hands and knees while he positioned himself behind her. Denise gasped in surprise and tried to pull away as she felt sudden pressure in a most unexpected place.
'Oh, no,' she cried. 'Don't make me...'
But it was too late, Sidney, his strong hands grasping her hips to prevent her escape, had achieved his objective. Denise ceased her struggling, determined to please him, despite her own distaste for the act.' (p.70)
I ask you: is this the kind of book you'd like your wife or your servant to read? Well, no, I'd hope for higher standards of literacy.
